Sr. Beatrice Sweeney, fmm
Sr. Beatrice Sweeney entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary at North Providence, RI September 18, 1949. In 1952, after making her first profession, Sister Beatrice went to Emmanuel College. During summer vacation time, she was missioned to Camp St. Helene in the Catskills where she served in charge of a unit for children in the New York area.
After graduation, Sister Beatrice was sent in mission to teach in Espiritu Santo School in Fall River. She pronounced her final vows March 19, 1955.
In 1958, she was sent in mission to Malaysia. Her various ministries in Malaysia, Australia and the United States were Religious Education, teaching, administration, secretary and local coordinator.
Her present ministry is that of suffering and prayer for the Church and the world.
Sr. Virginia Ptak, fmm
Sr. Virginia Ptak entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 15, 1944 at North Providence, RI.
After pronouncing her first vow March 19, 1947, Sr. Virginia was missioned to Roslyn, NY, St. Francis Hospital and Sanatorium, now known as St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center where she worked with children who came for treatment and relief from rheumatic fever and its many problems. She pronounced her final vows March 19, 1950 in N. Providence, RI.
Her various ministries have been X-ray Technician, registered nurse and local coordinator.
Her present ministry is the Care of Children who come to St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center for heart surgery and non-invasive surgery from foreign countries.
Sr. Patricia Murphy, fmm
Throughout her religious life, Patricia’s primary ministry has been teaching, at first in the USA; then in Japan; and again in the USA. But she has always had a great concern for the poor and suffering and has found numerous ways to reach out to them over the years. Her greatest interest is in people, which she shows by her compassion and understanding of the burdens she knows all carry.
Sr. Marie Cinotti, fmm
Sr. Marie Cinotti entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in North Providence, RI September 15, 1959.
After pronouncing her first vows March 19, 1962, she began studies at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Brighton. She pronounced her final vows Sept. 17, 1965. Her next mission was at Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Boston now known as Franciscan Hospital for Children working as an RN in Our Lady’s Unit. From 1967 to 1970 she was in charge of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Infirmary, N. Providence, RI.
Over the years, Sr. Marie has served as a nurse, religious education teacher, novice directress, local coordinator of communities, personnel director, vocation director and in pastoral care, prison ministry, parish ministry and soup kitchens.
Her present ministry is working at St. Jude’s parish in El Paso Texas. This parish is responsible for the chaplaincy at a local hospital where Marie serves as the chaplain. She is also part of the diocesan Vocation committee.
Sr. Carol Ann Kane, fmm
Sr. Carol Ann Kane entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in North Providence, RI September 15, 1959. She pronounced her final vows at North Providence September 17, 1965.
After finishing her studies at Emmanuel College, she was sent in mission to Espiritu Santo School in Fall River as a teacher. Throughout the next years her ministries have included teaching, formation, pastoral care, retreats, spiritual direction, and leadership here is the USA and missions in Singapore and Kenya.
Sr. 
Mary Blanche Dalton, fmm
Since 1975, Mary Blanche Dalton has served as the provincial secretary. Besides the English language, she is fluent in French and Japanese. Because of her gift of language she has served as a simultaneous translator at many of the General Chapters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary that have been held in Grottaferata, Italy.
